"Dirty" Thai Iced Tea

1 August 2016

Three years ago, the hubs and I ventured to Thailand for our honeymoon and I always get a little nostalgic around this time of year. It is an interesting country, a perfect, exotic paradise - at least where we stayed on Phuket. And the food, oh the food. So much beauty...

But despite all the country has to offer, it unfortunately has a serious dark side, none of which we had to experience while we were there, but something tells me I will get a lot of disappointed internet searchers directed to this post (sorry I don't make up the coffee culture slang).

Anyhoo, jokes aside, I had a revelation recently about one of our favorite drinks - the Thai iced tea. It is a strongly brewed, orangish Ceylon tea with typically some sweetened condensed milk added. So basically a dessert (or five) in a glass.

And while recently enjoying another favorite beverage - the "Dirty" Chai - which is your standard chai tea latte with a shot of espresso thrown in (the dirty), it hit me - we could do the same with our beloved Thai iced tea. Dessert I can fully justify for breakfast, finally!

So I clearly got right on making this concoction and it is as delicious as I imagined...enjoy!
